I have a 87 300ZX non-turbo. While driving the car, it just died. Now it won't start. I checked the fuses, they were good. Checked for spark at the distributor side of the coil wire. No spark. Changed coils and still no spark. Have voltage at the trans amplifier. What else can I check to resolve this problem would be much appreciated.

If you are still having the problem with the 300ZX.....

It died, and won't start back up. With the no spark condition, you will want to check cylinder compression.

To check compression, remove a spark plug, and put your finger over the hole to plug it off, while someone turns the key to crank the engine. The cylinder should EASILY make enough pressure to push your finger off the hole. If it doesn't, then the timing belt is bad.

The 2 things that cause this problem are timing belts, and fuel pumps...USUALLY.
